Human being doesn’t live isolated, and for that it depends on other Humans to exist, to become a Man, made of history, culture, knowledge,
educated by parents and society, from the relation with others, from choices, projects, goals, dreams,
the human being it’s a result of the experiences to be.
A long life processes in a constant mutation, changing him self and the world that surrounds him.
“ When I fall “ is a trilogy that reflects these ideas. The physical, spiritual and psychological fall of the human being.
This goes about a long travel to the end of the world, to the desert, an escape from a noisy routine,
were the performer confronts himself with his shadow representing his head and a strange baroque figure representing is heart!
In this piece Ivo Serra developed the relation with the video, sound, dance and text like he did in his previous pieces “Check In” and “Graffiti”.
The three parts of “When I Fall” where created during 2005/2006 with presentations in July 2005, April 2006 and the première of the whole piece was in December 2006.
